Oak Pack Cubs

all about Oak Cubs click here

As you will know, Oak Pack has a new leadership team. I have taken on the role as Cub Scout Leader, supported by two Assistant Cub Scout Leaders, Mica Lawrence and Pack Assistant, Janice Greig.

While we are all very new to running a cub pack we have had great fun during our first term and hope that the cubs will continue to enjoy being a part of scouting and the opportunities it offers.

We had six Beavers swimming up in September, who have been invested and who have soon settled into their sixes.

The new Oak Pack leadership team has really cut its teeth and had a very successful first half term. We have worked towards the Communicator badge and have done many interesting and fun activities to achieve this, including, ‘getting to know you’ games, sending messages by Semaphore, learning how to use a telephone directory, how to make emergency phone calls, cracking codes, story telling and orientating around Bookham. Fifteen Cubs successfully achieved this badge.

The second half of term has gone really quickly and we have done a variety of activities. We had great fun at the combined Firework display on 2 nd November and the Cubs really enjoyed the fireworks, sparklers and hot dogs.

We are planning to do the Home safety badge, which is especially important in the colder weather and with the increased use of candles because of Christmas.

For our Christmas treat, we are taking the pack to the pantomime in Dorking to see Aladdin and every single Cub is coming!!

A very happy Christmas from all at Oak Pack and we look forward to an exciting new year.
