Cub Camp 2009 at Bentley Copse
At the end of our stay, we asked the cubs in their groups to write and perform (with each cub taking a line) a ‘Bentley Copse Rap’. Please note that the groups, loosely based on their sixes, gave themselves a name for the weekend.

Bentley Cope is the biz
Rifle shooting is the best.
I came first in the go-karting
I shot a bullseye in the archery

Fire Lions are the biz
Going around and playing with kids.
At the end of day two we had a campfire song
Eating marshmallows and singing along

Today we are going to sing the Fire Lions song.

We went to the rifle range, archery and go-karts
We also found trees and wrote down their type
We sat around the campfire and sung silly songs
We were up at 4, waking up Giles. He yelled from his tent
“You lot be quiet!”

So, Bentley Copse this weekend
Did some go-karting with our friends
The ‘granny mobile’ didn’t go fast,
In fact it always came last!
Archery was fun
We used a bow, not a gun
Then our leaders had a go: Arkela beat Rick
But she didn’t get a bullseye with that pointy stick!
Adventure playground was so fun
Also, we came number one!
Up and over, in and out
The next camp will be like Scouts!

We arrived at camp, Gummies was our names
All of the team are Gummies and we’re all the same

After all the fun, we went to bed

All the next day, we were up in a flash, but one of our team members had a bit of a bash.

We did rifle shooting, archery and go-karting too. We then did the assault course, coming number two.

At the end of the day, we sung some songs, but the other cubs (another group joined us) sang them all wrong!
